  • Hampton Roads Blogger Meet Up Recap

Saturday was a GLORIOUS day for a Hampton Roads blogger meet-up! The lovely Christina & Kristen of 6 Petals, Alicia of French Press This & myself all gathered at Cure Coffeehouse for some coffee & blog talk. Tucked in the sweet historic Freemason neighborhood of Downtown Norfolk, Cure was a perfect spot for inspiration as we discussed the variety of communities in Hampton Roads, the opportunities Hampton Roads bloggers have to support local businesses & the super exciting future that our blogging community has ahead of us.

We spent our time getting to know each other & dreaming up some ideas for collaborations, future events & meet-ups. We are so excited to meet more Hampton Roads blogger faces (we know you’re out there!), &  share more time, experiences & ideas with each other. Our area of southern Virginia is so vast, & we greatly look forward to growing our community & resources together.

  • A “Pinch” of Green from our Virginia Bloggers

Looking for a few green recipes to get you and your family into the St. Patty’s spirit? Go Irish with these bright and easy St. Patrick’s Day recipes!

Brittany @Eatingbirdfood celebrates St.Patty’s Day with a nutritious green smoothie. This tropical green smoothie is perfect for those just hopping on-board the green smoothie train. It uses frozen banana and mango, both of which are super sweet and do a great job masking just about anything. Of course, it’s still a winner for those of us that have been drinking green smoothies for ages — you can’t really go wrong when combining banana, mango and coconut.

Erin @Erin’s Inside Job has become OBSESSED with brussel sprouts. If she hasn’t had them in a week, she gets a weird craving for them that must be satisfied RIGHT AWAY.I guess it’s better than craving a chocolate covered peanut butter covered chocolate concoction. Plus, it’s a healthier way to get into the St.Patty’s Day spirit.

For Kristel @Stirring Things Up, steamed artichokes was a special treat at her family’s table. Their naturally bright green color makes them a perfect choice for festive March tables that highlight green foods for St. Paddy’s Day, and they taste better than food coloring in your eggs.
